You're not broken. You just haven’t met yourself yet.
What surviving the impossible taught me about living with purpose…
Hi, I’m Alexandra Farrand
I literally entered the world fighting. When the doctor cut into the amniotic sac, the first thing that popped out was my fist! Born at 23 weeks’ gestation - a micro preemie who weighed less than a pound, the odds were stacked heavily against me. Doctors spoke in percentages and prepared my family for the worst. But somewhere inside that tiny body was something that statistics couldn't measure: a will to rise.
Every breath I took was a choice. Every ounce I gained was a victory. Before I could walk, talk, or even open my eyes, I had already learned the most important lesson of my life: we are stronger than the circumstances we're born into.
And every chapter of my life since has been shaped by this fundamental truth: we are more resilient than we know.
Survival doesn't end when you leave the hospital. It doesn't end when you hit your first milestone, or your fifth. Growing up as a premature baby comes with challenges that extend far beyond infancy. Challenges that follow you into classrooms, into friendships, into the quiet moments when you're alone with your thoughts and wondering why things feel so much harder for you to achieve than they seem to for everyone else.
There were many delays. Hurdles. Setbacks. Moments that tested not just my body, but my sense of self. Moments where I genuinely didn't know if the gap between me and the rest of the world would ever close or if I was simply built differently, destined to always be working so hard to try to catch up.
But here's what those moments gave me, beneath all the difficulty: an intimate relationship with uncertainty. A quiet, hard-won understanding that you can keep going even when the ground beneath you isn't solid. Resilience isn't about being fearless… it's about moving forward anyway, one uncertain step at a time.
When I stopped fighting my story and started listening to it…
For a long time, I didn't have language for what I'd suffered and struggled with in my life. I just knew that something had shifted in me slowly, almost imperceptibly as I stopped fighting against my story and started listening to it. The more I leaned into understanding who I actually was, not who I thought I should be, and not who other people thought I should be, the more my life began to open up.
Old patterns lost their grip. Decisions became clearer. I stopped waiting for permission to trust myself.
I stopped performing and started actually living. That shift changed everything and it became the foundation of my approach as a coach.
Why I Coach:
Transformation rooted in real understanding…
I became a coach because I know, firsthand, what transformation looks like when it's rooted in genuine self-understanding. Not just willpower and not discipline alone. But the kind of deep internal clarity that comes when you finally stop moving away from yourself and start moving toward yourself.
As a life coach and the heart behind Rise with Alexandra, I work with people who are ready to stop going through the motions and start living with intention. People who have been told by life circumstances, by other people, or by the quiet voice of their own doubt that they shouldn't expect too much. People who are ready to prove that voice wrong and to understand what drives them, holds them back, and what becomes possible when they learn to truly trust themselves.
I know what it's like to start from a place where the world counted you out and I know what it takes to prove the world wrong. My coaching isn't about quick fixes or surface-level pep talks. It's about reconnecting you to your resilience, rebuilding your belief, and helping you take the bold, unshakable steps toward the life you were always meant to live. If I could fight for my life as a micro-preemie, imagine what you can do with the breath you have right now.
Your rise starts here and I would be honored to walk the path with you.
Alexandra
